Baked Pears With Maple Yogurt – Dessert For Two

by Balvinder. 5 Comments

With Valentine’s Day this week, what better way to treat your health conscious partner with something sugar free and heartfelt? Baked pears with walnuts and maple yogurt are exactly that. They are one of the simplest, yet incredibly delicious and guilt-free recipes you can make. Perfect for everything from breakfast to snack, to dessert. I also published a 1 minute video of baked pears on my YouTube channel if you fancy to watch.

I always feel pears are often overlooked compared to other fall and winter fruits. They are sweet and tasty when perfectly ripe. And because pears hold their shape well, they are perfect for baking. And there is nothing complicated about baking pears. They’re simple and easy, you don’t even need an exact recipe. Just follow a general technique and then you’ll be able to use them in so many ways. But I have to say that we always eat baked pears with maple yogurt and the taste is so good. However, if you want to make it more indulgent to impress, then serve it with ice cream.

You can choose any variety of pears you like for this little recipe, but some will work better than others. You will also want the pears to be ripe, but not overripe. The cooking time will vary quite a bit depending on the size and ripeness of your pears. Stuff them with walnuts. Give them a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. To help soften them as they bake, you want to pour some water. When you pull the pears out of the oven, they should be golden and very tender. You can even make them in air fryer! They are great hot or cold, on top of maple yogurt.

If you try this healthy Baked Pear Recipe, don’t forget to leave me a comment below! Take a photo and share it with me on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram so I can see it! I post videos every week so make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel.

If you love pears, you should also take a look at spiced poached pears. The result is a deliciously tender pear with no sugar and wine.
