Simple Broccoli Stir Fry

by Balvinder. 10 Comments

This is not a mere recipe but a great accompaniment with any main course. Broccoli is one of the cruciferous vegetable which is simply dripping with healthy nutrients. Who might not want to include this super food in their diet? Once you get the taste of it you will love it. I made a simple stir fry to pair with our spicy chicken.

This broccoli stir-fry is best served fresh, but it also reheats really nicely. If you’re planning on making it ahead of time, cook it for 1-2 minutes less so that when you re-heat it, it doesn’t get mushy!

Simple Broccoli Stir fry

Ingredients:

1 large broccoli head

1 tbsp (+-) soy sauce

1 tbsp (+-) lemon juice

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

2-3 garlic cloves, chopped

2 tbsp pine nuts, dry roasted

ginger julienne

1 tbsp olive oil, butter or desi ghee

Method:

Prep your broccoli by washing and drying very thoroughly.

Cut into florets, about 1 1/2- 2 inches and makes about 4 cups.

Heat the olive oil in a large sauté pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté just until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add broccoli florets to the pan. Stir fry. Cover it for 2-4 min.

Take the lid off and season with soy sauce, lemon juice and pepper flakes.

Stir broccoli and see if it is cooked enough for your liking. If it’s not, put the lid back again and cook for another minute or so. It should be very lightly scorched but still look green and crunchy.

Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with pine nuts.

    Hi Neetu,

I am not sure why but I am still having issues getting into your blog, it say that your blog is not open to public. Finally I managed to today.

Broccoli is a fav at home and I like how you have prepared it with the nuts, very nice and I can just eat it like that as a snack.
